Leandro Navarro is associate Professor at the Computer Architecture Department of UPC. He received his Ph.D. from UPC in 1992. Research
interests include the design of scalable and cooperative Internet services and applications. He coordinates the CNDS (Computer Networks
and Distributed Systems) research group at UPC. He coordinated the FP7 CONFINE IP project from 2011-2015 about community networks and the Community-Lab.net testbed. Currently, he coordinates the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate in Distributed Computing (EMJD-DC), and is co-chair of the IRTF.org working group GAIA (Global Access to the Internet for All). He is also executive board member of the Association for
Progressive Communications (www.apc.org).
